Terms and conditions

All participants and visitors to UNICEF Lake Run agree to acknowledge and abide by the following terms and conditions of participation:

General information on participation

  • Participation in the run is open to persons who have reached the minimum age of 18 years or who can provide written consent from a parent or legal carer.
  • Participation in the run is only possible after prior registration. You can register online at www.lakerun.lu or on the day at the information stand.
  • All participants take part at their own risk.
  • Participants declare that they are in an appropriate physical and medical condition to walk or run the 3 km course at the speed of their choice, without being timed.

Cancellation, refund and exclusion from the event

  • Once registration has been completed, there will be no refund of participation fees, unless the event is cancelled.
  • The organiser reserves the right to cancel or postpone the race in case of adverse weather conditions.
  • The organiser reserves the right to exclude participants from the event and to expel them from the site in case of inappropriate behaviour.

Purchase and consumption of alcoholic beverages

  • Only people over the legal minimum age are allowed to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.

Damage to property and personal injury

  • The organisers cannot be held responsible for personal injury or damage to property arising from participation in the race.
  • Each participant agrees to waive any claim against the organisers in the event of any injury or damage.
  • The organisers decline all responsibility for any accident or injury sustained during the children's activities.
  • A first-aid kit is available at the information desk. In case of a medical emergency, the local emergency services must be alerted.

Images and personal data

  • The personal data collected at registration will be used exclusively for the organisation and conduct of the run and will not be passed on to third parties.
  • Each participant agrees that photos and videos taken during the run may be used for publicity purposes.
  • For photos of underage participants and visitors, the agreement of the parents or a legal tutor must be sought.

Taking part with a dog or pushchair

  • Dogs may take part in the run but must be kept on a leash.
  • Dog owners must ensure that they do not endanger or impede other participants.
  • Pushchairs are permitted on the run, but the parents or legal carers of the child must ensure that they do not impede other participants.

Participation of and responsibility for children

  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal carer to take part in the run.
  • Parents or legal carers are responsible for the safety and behaviour of their children during the run.
  • Participation in children's activities such as the bouncy castles and face painting is under the responsibility of the parents or legal carers. They must supervise their children when they take part in these activities.
