When does the event start?

The start of the run will take place at 11am. Make sure to be there a bit earlier, so you can pick up your jersey and we can tick you off the list of participants.

How much does participation cost?

The participation fee is €25 for each participant, regardless of whether you are competing alone or in a team. The fee includes a UNICEF jersey.

When and where do I pick up my jersey?

You can pick up your jersey right before the event on our information stand.

How many kilometres do I have to run/walk?

One lap around the Lake Echternach is 3 kilometres and you can decide for yourself how many laps you run.

Can children join the run/walk and is it possible to participate with a pushchair?

Yes, children can participate, and pushchairs are also allowed.

Where can I park

Right next to the event location is a parking spot . You can easily find alternatives around the lake, for example near the Youth Hostel.

Are there lockers and showers on site?

Unfortunately, there will be no showers or lockers.

Is there any action related to the UNICEF Lake Run on social media?

We invite each participant to post photos on social networks using the hashtag #uniceflakerun.

Can I leave my children unsupervised?

Everyone is responsible for their child/children. We've got a fun programme for them, with a bouncy castle and face painting, but don't forget that this isn't a nursery where you can leave your child/children.

Do dogs have to be kept on a leash?

We welcome every dog that takes part in the race, but for safety reasons, we would kindly ask you to keep your dog on a leash at all times.

Who should I contact if I have questions or other concerns?

If you have any questions or concerns, or in case of an accident, you can always ask for help at our information desk or contact one of the UNICEF staff on site.

How do the fundraising goals work?

For individual participants: Set your own fundraising goal. Then you can ask your friends and family to sponsor you by making donations on your participant page. For teams: Set a group goal and get your friends and family to sponsor you. Since each team member will as well have an individual participation page, you can also set an individual fundraising goal for yourself. Donations can either be made on the team page or on one of the team members' page. All donations to team members are automatically added up on the team page.

What happens if I don't reach my fundraising goal?

Fundraising goals are intended to be motivational. You are not supposed to pay any difference if the goal is not met.

How and until when can I raise funds?

Share the link to your donation page with your friends and family or on social networks. You can collect donations from the moment you register until 19th of May 2024. Please note that donations can only be collected online on your participant page or on your team page. Our fundraising tips

Does everyone receive a donation certificate?

For the registration fee of € 25, participants will not receive a certificate. However, each person who donates to an individual or a team will receive a certificate. It will be sent by mail to the address indicated in the donation form.

How can I support a participant or a team?

To support a participant or a team, go to their page and click on "DONATE". Your donation can be publicly displayed on their page or anonymous. You can donate to an individual participant or to a team.

What are the donations used for?

Since 77 years, UNICEF is fighting to safeguard the rights and safety of children around the world. The funds raised go towards our work in the areas of education, health, protection, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, as well as emergency response and preparedness, providing life-saving support and hope for a better future for children all over the world.

How many people do I need to create a team?

You will need at least two participants to create a team. Each team page must be created by one of the team members, then anyone can join from the team page. Please note that each team member will still have a personal participant page.

Can I also join an existing team? If so, how?

Yes, you can join an existing team by going to the team page and clicking on "join team".

Can I participate as a company with my colleagues?

Yes! Create a team, motivate your colleagues, and run/walk on behalf of your company.

Can I participate even if I do not have a team?

Yes, you can always register as an individual participant.
